If you live in New York City—or lurk on cultural media a small bit—chances are you’ve come across these different and wonderful sight: A huge, colorful preparation of light flowers placed at the seemingly random location. Perhaps a larger-than-life bunch of forsythia and sunflowers bursting from an empty city garbage can. Or a large garland of flower hung present a bronze with Middle Park.

These installations are so striking, they’ve likely caused you to stop in your tracks. They’ve and expected caused you to consider the distinctiveness of the pro bandit behind these glorious acts.
The pro bandit, it turns out, is Lewis Miller, a florist identified for his fantastical got married and company arrangements. Over the last few months, he along with the merry ring of beautifiers have occurred stealthily creating just what they call Flower Flashes. Their target? And then bring joy to their other citizens’ daily commutes. “Gifting flowers to Contemporary Yorkers is a regular idea that I have been thinking about for years,” Lewis about. “I stay in the business of imagination with flowers, and our task to transform key moments in my clients’ lives in joyful, everlasting memories. I needed to reproduce a similar feeling to the daily city-dwellers and visitors of New York Area.”
Below, Lewis gives Vogue a faster look at their Flower Moments, and shares what more we can think since his burgeoning side project.

“With the initial single, the Imagine Mixture in Mid Park, we were astonished in the way suddenly a group had figured. And with this period of collective media, we investigate the berries of our job then lived quickly rewarded by Instagram! We got to see how the sense turned with real point with many selflies and photographs recording the blooms throughout the course of the day. It was really neat to see how people modified and amended the installation, sometimes in changing the flowers, other measure by simply getting them!”
“Who doesn’t like to get flowers? They become like a luxury, and New York City is a very rough, fast-paced town. If we could bring nature—something mad and sumptuous—to New Yorkers and make them smile, how people look when they watch a casual enactment of kindness, and then that is a great feature. That will stays the aim. It’s a really simple vision but powerful, I think, to establish an emotional response through flowers.”
